Welcome to the launch of my new and first blog! My name is Elina Cecilia, and I am so excited to share with you my path in the design industry, all my crafts, and DIY explorations!

All my life wanted to create a blog, and now at 35, I think it is a great chance to start. I have so many ideas, also last year I went back to school and I learned so many things and I can't wait to share them all with you.

Why did I start my blog?

Well, the fact is that I like to talk a lot, and I firmly believe that sharing is caring… I know how it is to start all over, and that is why I am here. A couple of months before the pandemic began, I have recently moved to a new country, dear let me tell you: it was such a learning process. After all that process, I am challenging myself to study between my life as an Illustrator/ full-time in-house designer. WAIT, WHAT? Yes, I have a double life. I work full time in my fantastic company, and I also illustrate ideas for money… Provably you are just about to do some of this or deal with the same double-life as mine, so I am here for you…you are not lonely in this feeling; I know how frustrating or challenging this can be, but also how amazing and delightful!

I want to share my process, inspirations, new city, illustration tutorials, and my new path as a student. Would you like to share this with me?

I finished university 10 years ago, and last June, I decided to start a Master in Illustration, and everybody questioned me why?! Cuz I owe it! And I want to share this experience with all of you. 

At the same time, I'm giving format to some illustration and creativity classes and tutorials; creative life can be challenging, especially when we are almost forced to create so many pieces for social media all the time following the algorithm. You are not alone on this path; here is this anxious girl for you yay! 

But hold on! Who am I?

So far, I have told you some things about my life but let me introduce myself :). My name is Ceci or Elina, and I am an illustrator and designer from Argentina. I was born in Mendoza, a city on the west side of the country.

When I was about 25, I recently finished my design degree, and I took a plane and landed in New York City to pursue my dream of working in the most incredible city in the world… and surprisingly, it worked. After this, I went back to Argentina… someday I will tell you more about this.

Several years later I met my husband and 2 months after saying yes in the most fantastic ceremony that I could ask for, we got a job offer from a company in Spain and decided to move to Barcelona. 

Nowadays, I split my time between my beautiful work in the Brand Studio of Typeform and my illustration career. I'm not going to lie to you; sometimes it can be demanding... but actually, both jobs make me happy.

Mi primer blog

¡Bienvenid@s al lanzamiento de mi nuevo y primer blog! Mi nombre es Elina Cecilia (Ceci para la mayoría), ¡y estoy muy emocionada de compartir con ustedes todo mi camino en la industria del diseño, la ilustración y mis exploraciones en el mundo DIY!

Toda mi vida quise crear un blog, y ahora, a los 35 creo que es una gran oportunidad para empezar. Realmente tengo muchas ideas para compartir con ustedes principalmente porque el año pasado volvi a la escuela y hay muchas cosas que creo queue less pueden servir.

¿Por qué estoy comenzando mi blog?

Bueno, el caso es que me gusta mucho hablar, y creo firmemente que compartir es cuidar… Sé cómo es empezar de nuevo, y por eso estoy aquí. Un par de meses antes de que comenzara la pandemia nos habíamos mudado a un nuevo país, mis querid@ dejame decirte: toooooodo fue un largo proceso de aprendizaje. Después de todo ese proceso, este año decidí desafiarme a estudiar, en el medio mi vida como ilustrador y diseñador interno a tiempo completo. Espera…¿Queeeee? Si si así como lo escuchas, tengo una doble vida. Trabajo a tiempo completo en una fantástica compañía, y también ilustro ideas por dinero ... si estás a punto de hacer algo de esto o lidias con la misma doble vida que la mía, estoy aquí para vos ... no te sientas sol@ en este sentimiento; realmente sé lo frustrante o desafiante que puede ser esto, ¡pero también cuan asombroso y hermoso!

¿Qué más verás en mis publicaciones?

Bueno como les dije..me gusta hablar y por eso quiero compartir mi proceso, inspiraciones, mi nueva ciudad, algunos tutoriales de ilustración y mi nuevo camino como estudiante. Te quiero invitar a que me acompañes en todo este proceso estoy segura de que vamos a aprender mucho de los dos lados.

La pandemia me hizo pensar mucho…estaba un poco desanimada y perdida y por eso en junio pasado comencé un Máster en Ilustración, Y todos me preguntaron que si estaba un poco loca? Y la verdad es que me lo debía… siempre había querido estudiar algo relacionado con la ilustración y aquí estamos; por eso quiero compartir esta experiencia con vos.

Al mismo tiempo, le estoy dando formato a algunas clases y tutoriales de ilustración y creatividad. Se que la vida creativa puede ser un desafío, especialmente cuando nos vemos casi obligados a crear tantas piezas para las redes sociales todo el tiempo persiguiendo el algoritmo.

¡Pero esperá! ¿Quién soy?

Hasta ahora les he contado muchas cosas sobre mi vida pero permítanme presentarme :). Como ya les dije antes mi nombre es Ceci o Elina, soy una ilustradora y diseñadora argentina, nací en Mendoza, una ciudad al oeste del país.

Cuando tenía alrededor de 25 años, hacia poco había terminado la universidad…tomé un avión y aterricé en la ciudad de Nueva York para perseguir mi sueño de trabajar en la ciudad más increíble del mundo ... y sorprendentemente, funcionó. Después de un tiempo, volví a Argentina (algún día te contaré más sobre esto).

Varios años después conocí a mi marido y 2 meses después de decir que sí en la ceremonia más fantástica que pude pedir, recibimos una oferta de trabajo de una empresa en España y decidimos mudarnos a Barcelona.

Hoy en día, divido mi tiempo entre mi hermoso trabajo en el Brand Studio de Typeform y mi carrera de ilustración. No te voy a mentir; a veces puede ser exigente ... pero en realidad, ambos trabajos me hacen feliz.
